OVERVIEW
TESTER is a ascanner device, battery supplied, which is able to detect the characteristics of original remote controls, returning useful information like their operating frequency, type of code and the compatibility with our remote controls PANDIS, ACLUS, CELIUS, ....
This is particular suited for remote controls resellers, which need a simple device which is able, in few seconds, to detect if the remote controls of their customers can be duplicated or not.
Just press the button key to start scanning over the managed frequencies: when the device is recognized, the type of transmitted code, the compatibility and the frequency are displayed.
OPERATION MODE
Press the button key: the word "SCAn" will be displayed.
Start transmitting from the original remote control, from a distance of about 20cm; if the TESTER don't learn the code in 15 seconds, take the original remote control nearer (10cm).
When the code is recognized the following information are displayed:
- "PAn.N", which says that the original remote control is compatibile with PANDIS, pressing N times the button to store the right frequency. For example, if "PAn.7" is shown, the device operates at 315MHz so the original code should be duplicated pressing 7 times the button where the original remote code should be stored. If "PAn.2" is shown, then original device operates at 868.3MHz and can be duplicated on PANDIS just pressing 2 times the button key.
- "ACLU" if the original remote control is compatible with ACLUS (433.92 MHz)
- "CELI" if the original remote control is compatible with CELIUS (868.3MHz)
- optionally, "roLL" to indicate that the original remote transmits a rolling (hopping) code, so it's not assured that the code can be duplicated. It depends by the customer receiver, which can be made to look at the fixed part only or at the whole code transmitted: in the latter case, the original remote control cannot be duplicated
- the number of pulses of the original code, for example " 66.P"
- original remote control frequency in MHz, for example "315.2", "868.3" or "418.0".
  
TESTER begins scan starting from 433.92, then 868.3, then from 286 to 361 and from 384 to 400MHz, finally some spare frequencies like 418MHz; every time the scan restart from the first frequency, the display is turned OFF shortly.
Removing and inserting the battery, TESTER displays its firmware version, for example "rEL.2" which means that the current installed firmware is 2.
CHARACTERISTICS

3V through 2x1.5V AAA alkaline batteries. Life is more than 2000 minutes (3000-8000 tests). Batteries can be changed very easely, without opening the device. 2x1.2V AAA NiMH batteries can be used as well.

Power down
|
No ON/OFF switch needed, because the device automatically enters a powerdown state to conserve power after information are displayed,or after a timeout of about 40s while no valid code is RXed.
Also, while scanning, it's possible to exit just pressing the button another time.

Firmware upgrade
|
Firmware can be upgraded by the manufacturer only. To know the current release, just remove and insert the battery, and look at the display which will show something like "rEL.2" |
